{"id":7742,"date":"2023-01-23T14:33:35","date_gmt":"2023-01-23T12:33:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/copolad.eu\/?p=7742"},"modified":"2024-11-15T14:23:33","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T12:23:33","slug":"bursaries-for-students-from-latin-american-and-caribbean-countries-for-the-2023-european-drugs-winter-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/copolad.eu\/en\/bursaries-for-students-from-latin-american-and-caribbean-countries-for-the-2023-european-drugs-winter-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholarships for students from Latin American and Caribbean countries for the 2023 European Drugs Winter School"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Professionals, academics or experts from Latin American and Caribbean countries (LAC) (<sup>1<\/sup>) will have an opportunity to participate in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.emcdda.europa.eu\/event\/2023\/02\/european-drugs-winter-school-edws_en\">European Drugs Winter School<\/a>\u00a0(EDWS) <b>this year, thanks to two scholarships covering the registration fee being offered through the EMCDDA\u2019s partnership with<\/b> the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.emcdda.europa.eu\/activities\/copolad_en\">COPOLAD<\/a> project. The course will be online.<\/p>\n<p>The EDWS, organised by the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) and the EMCDDA, will be delivered online from <b>13\u201324 February 2023<\/b>, and will focus on the theme of \u2018Displaced populations and drug-related issues\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The EDWS will include live lectures with experts and practitioners, virtual tours to field work projects and individual exercises. The full programme can be consulted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ipps.iscte-iul.pt\/images\/EDWS2023_Programme_16-01-2023.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The course is open to university students (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate), researchers, professionals and administrators interested in or working in the drugs field, including participants from the EMCDDA&#8217;s network of focal points in 30 countries, or from programmes being developed by the EMCDDA with third countries (e.g. Latina American, Caribbean, Western Balkans,\u00a0 Latin America and CariibNorth Africa, Eastern Europe).<\/p>\n<p>The sessions will be recorded and made available for subsequent viewing. Completion of exercises and an exam are compulsory for those wishing to obtain credits. <b>The courses will be conducted in English<\/b>; therefore, students should have a good written and spoken level of the language.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To apply for a COPOLAD bursary, please send an e-mail (stating clearly that you are applying to the EDWS) to\u00a0<span class=\"of-mailto\">ue.aporue.addcme@dalopoc<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Deadline for applications:\u00a0<b>3 february 2023<\/b><\/li>\n<li>The registration will follow the rule &#8220;first come, first get it&#8221;. The registration may close before\u00a0 \u00a0if all the places for the course are filled before the deadline. Please, proceed with your application as soon as possible. After completing the registration, you will find out if you have been accepted on the course within 15 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The EMCDDA became an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.emcdda.europa.eu\/news\/2022\/emcdda-becomes-official-partner-copolad-iii_en\">official partner<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/copolad.eu\/en\/\">COPOLAD III<\/a> in July 2022. The programme promotes dialogue and bi-regional cooperation on drug policy between the European Union and Latin American and Caribbean countries.
