Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration<\/span><\/div>\n<section>\n<div>\n<p>This TIP endorses a biopsychosociocultural framework based on clinical practice and research centered on women. By placing emphasis on the importance of context, many topics examine the role of factors that influence women\u2019s substance use from initiation of use to engagement of continuing care treatment services, i.e., relationships, gender socialization, and culture. The knowledge and models presented here are grounded in women\u2019s experiences, built on women\u2019s strengths, and based on best, promising, or research-based practices.
