The Cooperation Program between Latin America, the Caribbean, and the European Union on Drug Policies (COPOLAD) aims to promote coordination between national agencies dedicated to public policies on drugs in CELAC countries and the European Union, through the strengthening of cooperation, dialogue, and the implementation of specific actions. The Subcomponent “Alternative Development” (AD) of the third phase of the COPOLAD program facilitates the intra-regional exchange amongst all countries interested in the AD issue.
In this context, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is organizing the First Intra-regional Dialogue Forum on AD, on July 13th and 14th, 2022, in the city of Bogota, Colombia.
The Forum is a space for mutual exchange and networking and fosters discussions and learning about best practices and recent innovations in AD. A special emphasis will be on environmental considerations and conservation efforts for sustainable and alternative rural development strategies. This includes agroforestry, reforestation, ecotourism, access to non-timber forest products and payments for ecosystem services, especially in ethnic jurisdictions and protected areas. In addition, the Forum will provide participants with an overview of implementation experiences, as well as recent reforms of AD programs in CELAC countries
On this occasion, government representatives, representatives of farmers associations, and members of civil society will participate in the Dialogue Forum.
Kindly consider the following profiles for your nominees:
